At Constantia Waldorf School, we believe in not only nurturing our students academically but also fostering a sense of community and empathy. This is where the Outreach Committee comes in – a dedicated group of teachers who aim to make a positive impact on the lives of others; for example, children who may be facing challenges or have different needs, or animals who need extra love and care.

Our Outreach Committee exists to remind us of the importance of looking beyond our own experiences, and understanding that there are many others in our communities who are in need. By organizing drives like our recent Easter Egg collection for Hillwood Primary in Lavender Hill, we aim to show our students the value of kindness and the power of giving. Previous drives have included making blankets for Mandela Day and raising funds (and collecting food) for animal shelters on Ears & Tails day.

These drives are not just about donating goods or money, but about raising awareness – helping our students understand that there are others who may not have the same opportunities or resources. Through these initiatives we teach them that, even in small ways, they can make a big difference. Whether it is donating a toy, helping in a local community, or simply learning to appreciate their own blessings, these acts of kindness teach compassion, humility, and the importance of social responsibility.

The Outreach Committee plays a vital role in fostering a school culture where helping others is seen as both a privilege and a responsibility. We are proud of the support our students have shown, and we look forward to continuing these efforts to ensure that we can all be a part of a kinder, more connected community.

Thank you to all who participated in the Easter Egg drive to help make a difference! We have managed to collect 5156 easter eggs!

Together, we are creating a ripple effect of kindness.
