Mr Cosmas' Farewell Speech

On the last day of Term 3 we bid a sad farewell to our beloved Mr. Cosmas. He was employed as our security officer, but he was so much more than that. Mr. Cosmas was a wealth of smiles, kindness and knew every child, past and present by name, and called them all his "angels".

Sports News

Congratulations to Lila Bailey in Class 5! Lila represented Western Province Vaulting, and they recently participated at the SA National Vaulting Championships which were held in Midrand. She finished in Third Place in her grade in the Individual on Horse category, Second in the Pas de Deux pairs category and First on the Barrel category. Lila also participated under the school’s name in the SA National Equestrian Schools Pas de Deux category and came first.

The WC Vaulting Team is a fantastic group of children and coaches who are always balancing having fun and working hard so superbly, that they have the best time of supporting each other and really playing at this sport. These results are always a bonus and speak to the ethic of teamwork. Well done to Lila and her teammates!

Sports and Extra Curricular Activities: will begin on Monday 7th October, 2024.

Apology Regarding Scheduling our School Fair on Yom Kippur

Dear Community

We deeply regret the oversight in scheduling our Annual School Fair on the date of Yom Kippur, a significant day of reflection and atonement for our Jewish community. We sincerely apologise for this unfortunate mistake and any inconvenience or distress it may have caused.

We understand this date conflicts with the participation of some families in our community, and as a Waldorf school that values inclusivity and respect for all faiths and traditions, we are committed to striving that such conflicts are avoided in the future. Your help and support in this endeavor will be greatly appreciated.

In Loving Memory of MARIETA WESSELS "MEVROU"

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of one of our beloved (retired) teachers, Marieta Wessels, fondly known to our Alumni as "Mevrou". She was not only a dedicated High School Teacher but also a beloved Mom, a cherished friend, and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her passion for teaching, High School pupils and her unwavering support touched the lives of so many in our community.

We invite you to join us in honouring and celebrating her life on Saturday 19th October 2024 at the Constantia Waldorf School, in the Sports Hall at 11am.

A reminder of our open door for parents to meet with College members in conversation about any issues they feel need to be heard. SFC, a new movement in South Africa connecting and empowering parents to press pause on smartphones and social media for kids. At launch, 3000 members in Cape Town signed up in one week.
