Constantia Waldorf School U11 Boys Football Challenge 2024

On Friday 30th August, we had the opportunity of hosting our first ever U11 Boys Football Tournament, with The Grove Primary School, Ukhanyo Primary, and Zenzeleni Waldorf School. The afternoon was filled with great skill, energy and most importantly, the boys enjoyed themselves, and the parents enjoyed watching the lovely sportsmanship the boys displayed.

Our boys won two matches and lost one match to finish the tournament tied with Ukhanyo Primary School. Well done to all the boys and we look forward to a bigger tournament next season.

Sports Update

The U13 Girls traveled up to Aliwal Road for a second encounter of the season against Wynberg Girls Junior School on Friday. On this occasion, our girls put on a much improved performance and won the match 6 – 1. A wonderful way to end the football season for the girls. Later today, they will be participating in The Grove Primary School’s U13 Girls 7-a-Side Football Fundraiser Tournament for the Red Cross Children’s Hospital. We hope they can make it 2 tournament wins out of 3.

After a successful tournament the previous Friday, the U11 Boys made the short trip to Mowbray, to take on St George’s Primary School. The boys continued the form they had shown the whole season and returned 8 – 1 winners. Well done boys!

Thursday afternoon St George’s Primary School came to our school for their first time, and avenging their younger peers were hot on their heels after the U11s’ result from Monday. The St George’s boys came off the blocks fastest and took the lead soon after kick-off. The Waldorf Boys wouldn’t back down as they tried to fight themselves back into the game at the end of the end to the first half. St George’s held onto a slender 1 – 0 lead at the break. The Waldorf boys came out the blocks fastest in the second half and scored the equalizer almost immediately after the restart.  St George’s found their desire to win the match and they regained their lead and won the match 4 – 1.

Well done boys on a wonderful season and good luck tomorrow at the U13 Boys Challenge taking place here at school.
